Reawakening the soul

Over at my other blog, Deepest Health, I am embarking on a journey that encompasses pretty much everything that I have ever been.  Big statement, huh?  Do you know what it feels like to be in love?  Do you have someone with whom you share everything?  Do you remember what it was like when you first realized that this was the person you wanted to be with?  Well, this feeling is something like that.  It is the feeling of all the senses coming awake.  Of remembering long forgotten things, remembering to love things, remembering who you are.

This project is important because it is a microcosmic representation of the way that Chinese medicine can open the human soul unto itself.  Chinese medicine is good for so many things, for common colds and dysmennorhea, for chronic coughs and cancer, but it is ultimately best at simply aligning human beings with the universe and setting  along on their path - whatever it may be.  This project doesn’t necessarily seek to do that, but in the end, I believe that’s exactly what it will do.  Now, I don’t want to go on and on about that project here - because that’s not the point of this blog.  But, I do want to talk about what working on that project awakens in me.

It awakens in me an unbridled love for life.  The leaves on the trees speak to me in a thousand tounges of green.  I find myself looking through my music catalog and instinctively pulling up long loved albums that I haven’t heard in years.  I want to cook with every color and flavor available to me on Earth.  I just sit above the pot and drink in the aroma.  When I walk, I open myself to every stretch of color, every smiling or scowling face, every car that drives by, every raindrop.  I’m walking among the world’s citizens without worry or hurry or despair.

Seeking to fully open myself in service of understanding the Classics of Chinese medicine, I have fully opened myself to my deep seated love for life and living.  Whatever else the project produces, this effect will linger - and that makes it worth it regardless.

Wow, you are in touch with your spiritual self. I realize that Christianity isn’t the only way to achieve “enlightenment” . This only proves that.
